Christmas at Renishaw is always a magical time and 2011 was no exception. We had several beautifully decorated trees in some of the most beautiful rooms in the Hall, hot mulled wine and mince pies served in the atmospheric Old Kitchen and lots of seasonal gifts in the Wine Store Shop. The gardens were free to visit during the winter openings and Hall Tours ran every day at 11am, 1pm and 3pm. Plans are to remain the same for Christmas 2012 so keep an eye on the events calendar!
Renishaw is celebrated for the fabulous Italianate gardens. The formal grounds were laid out in 1895 by Sir George Sitwell (1860-1943) in the classical Italianate style. Visit today and see Camelia's, Delphiniums, Bluebells and many more beautiful herbaceous plants, as well as the lakeside walks and children's trails. This year is packed with events within the gardens and as such will be a vibrant and welcoming place to enjoy such a celebratory year.
